About OnCourse
COVID-19 UPDATE
Please visit our student page or staff and faculty page for information on remote appointments.
OnCourse is the authorized student academic success platform used by students, faculty, and staff at The Ohio State University. Through this platform students can communicate and schedule appointments with their advisor, as well as review their advising notes and class information.
Advisors and other staff are able to record notes, set appointment availability, conduct student focused campaigns, and monitor the progress their students are making. Faculty are able to view their courses and rosters, issue alerts for students, and complete Progress Reports.
The overall goal in using the OnCourse platform is to increase retention rates, reduce time-to-degree, reduce costs, provide targeted outreach to students, increase coordinated efforts between campus partners to better support students, and increase graduation rates. For information on platform utilization, please see our Reports Archive.
OnCourse is The Ohio State University's version of a third-party platform that was developed by the Education Advisory Board (EAB). EAB and other institutions refer to the platform as Navigate which is why communications and Outlook appointments generated through the platform carry the Navigate logo.

- The SP21 Entry Term, Entry Campus, and Campus Change tags have been updated.
- We have added additional SP21 Campus Change tags that indicate a student's previous campus and the campus where they are currently taking the majority of their courses (MNS to COL, COL to NWK, etc.)
- The SP21 Commuter tag has also been updated and includes any students with a non-campus Ohio address who are taking in-person or hybrid courses.
- Section Tags have been added and can be found under Term Data in Advanced Search. These tags allow you to filter students based their enrollments for a term- if any of a student's courses fit into the tag categories, the search will pull those students.
Section Tags Include:
- MNS, COL, LMA, MRN, NWK, WST= campus of instruction
- 7W1= first session course
- 7W2= second session course
- 1= full semester course
- Distance Learning, Hybrid, Distance Hybrid, and In-Person= modes of instruction
