Experiencing Personal Issues?

The world doesn't stop while you're in school. Success in college can be affected by many personal and life situations. For instance, if someone close to you dies, you feel depressed or anxious, you struggle to pay your bills, you broke-up with a significant other, you think you might have a drug and/or alcohol problem, and in many other situations (big or small), you may have trouble focusing on your academic goals. Your advisor can help you figure out whether a schedule change or withdrawal could make your present situation more managable.

In addition to working with your advisor, you might find these campus resources helpful:

Student Advocacy Center

The Student Advocacy Center is committed to helping students navigate Ohio State's structure and to resolving issues that they encounter at the university. They help students to navigate obstacles to their success both in and out of the classroom.

Counseling and Consultation Services

CCS services are free to all currently enrolled Ohio State students, for up to ten sessions per academic year. The office can see students on an urgent basis during most hours of the business day from 9am-5pm. You can reach CCS at 614-292-576.

Student Wellness Center

Located in B130 RPAC (Recreational Physical Activity Center), the Student Wellness Center offers free wellness coaching.

Student Health Services - Wilce Student Health Center

All students enrolled at Ohio State can use the health service, regardless of health insurance coverage. Your first contact may be with an advice nurse, who can answer health-related questions, provide health counseling, assess health needs, and make referrals.

Student Life Office of Disability Services

The Office of Disability Services supports students with both permanent and temporary needs for learning support services. Their goal is to enable equal access to the university's education and student life.

Student Legal Services

Student Legal Services provides legal advice, representation, information, and resources to Columbus campus students in a degree seeking program who are enrolled in at least one in-person course.
